
The story of Simply African Food Limited begins with our late father, Donald Dodson, who was born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa. Growing up in a proud South African family, traditional foods like biltong, boerewors and droëwors were part of everyday life and deeply rooted in family gatherings around the braai.
Donald first began crafting biltong during hunting trips for buck in the South African bushveld, learning the traditional curing and drying methods that have been passed down through generations. His dedication to these authentic techniques eventually led him to produce biltong and boerewors for visitors to the world-renowned Kruger National Park.
In 2012, Donald brought his family recipes and traditional methods to the United Kingdom, where he began producing authentic South African biltong, droëwors and boerewors using the same techniques he had perfected in South Africa.
Today, his legacy lives on through Simply African Food Limited. Our family continues to use the same recipes and traditional drying methods he passed down, ensuring every piece of biltong, every stick of droëwors and every coil of boerewors reflects the heritage, craftsmanship and passion he believed in.
